Vase is an experimental project using slip casting technique. The shape of the vase is inspired by the still life drawings and paintings. It is designed to simulate 2-dimensional quality in the 3-dimensional piece.

Design Statement :

Young Table is a compact side table which could be used for any casual occasion. The user could place objects on its clear top and may create illusion of floating objects with the shadow. Young – meaning shadow or illusion in Korean-Chinese, is consisting of walnut wood, which has been used for the base, and the acrylic glass, used for the top. The diameter of its hexagonal table is 16” and height of the table is 8”.

Cappuccio-meaning “hoodie” in Italian – elevates the tactile experience by offering a novel, yet intuitive way of snuffing out a candle.

Cappuccio consists of a cast metal cup wrapped with a leather cone that is folded over a rigid piece of saddle leather thus creating a secure grip for its user. The leather upper features visible topstitching and the metal cup acts as a weighted base when set on the table.

Design an innovative kitchen tool that costs under $40.

Design Statement :

WindUp the Butter is a butter dispenser that is designed to ease spreading butter and to store the butter in more hygienic way. Spreading the hard butter that just came out of a refrigerator on a toast gives everyone a headache. It is almost impossible to spread it evenly that it always ends up ripping the bread. However, this uniquely designed butter dispenser shreds and squids the hard butter to soften to facilitate the user while spreading or using it. The WindUp the Butter’s mechanism and method of dispenser is not only designed to ease the use of butter but it is also to increase user experience to be amusing as if they are playing with the toys instead of using mundane boring kitchen tools.

Design Statement :

B Builder is a set of wooden building blocks designed to play by every age. Building blocks help children to develop motor skill, hand-eye coordination, spatial skill, creativity, and social skill. Thus, it is crucial to provide building blocks for children so they can develop their skills spontaneously. Its simple geometrical parts could be stacked to build various forms. Children can develop their skills by figuring different configurations by achieving different stacking methods of the toy.

Design Statement : Plot is an unconventional kit that houses a garden in a bag. MoMA's terraSkin bag turns into a pot, structures and functions with a given component. A shredder that is consisted in the kit, allows user to mix pellets of plastics (esp.LDPE) in soil to help the growth of one's home garden by acting as mulch. The soil and plastic mixture facilitates a rich and moist environment for plants to root in. The way plot is designed to use plastic, flips the table of its stereotypical taboo into a positive outcome.
